About this Blog

What is this place?

This is an art gallery, of sorts, but for poems.

Specifically, my poems. Most of them have spent decades lazing around old notebooks or computers files, generally not making much use of themselves. So I’m dusting them off and putting them to work.

Some will be new to me. Most will be new to you. New posts will trickle in bit by bit as I wade through and edit my old files, so if the collection seems small now, watch as it grows with time.

(Like any good art gallery, I have a “sign in” page. To leave your mark, click on: SAY HELLO! I’d love to hear from you.)

What is my poetry philosophy?

Everybody loves poetry at their start — nursery rhymes, Dr. Seuss, learning rhymes, punny jokes. We grow up learning from songs, from rhymes, from alliteration, from repetition, from poetry.

Poetry is NOT a cryptic riddle only meant to be enjoyed by people with degrees behind their names.

Poetry IS like drinking hot beverage on a cold day, an experience that warms and fills, whether or not you understand how all the ingredients are working together.

I believe poetry can and should be enjoyed by anyone and everyone.

You just have to find the rhythm that works for you.

What is “dinosaur fondue”?

Dinosaur Fondue is an umbrella name for various creative projects I’ve done over the years.

I don’t know what it means either.

I came up with it a long time ago and can’t seem to remember how the idea started. I do know that I like the way those words sound when they’re smushed together. (Isn’t that what poetry’s all about?)

…also, dinosaurs! Roar! 🦖
