Toddler Sonnet #4

Inevitably, all things meet their end.
The leaves must fall. The flowers wilt and fade.
But actuality I now suspend,
For I will not accept sticker’s decay.
O parrot-faced adornment! Bosom friend!
For ages known! (Perhaps, twas just a day.)
How carefully I washed my bedecked hand,
Preventing my compatriot’s decay.
Was all for naught? This morning it was gone!
A white ring left where sticker should have been.
This misadventure finds me woebegone
That I shall never see that face again!
Take comfort, Hand, your love was not in vain.
The residue of glitter will remain.
