Can I explain the wonders I perceive
To one so wonderfully wise as thee?
My hope depends that thou may yet believe
I can, and do, see dragons here with me.
Pray, do not laugh. I want none of your japes,
But sit and meet them, here upon the floor.
Yes, three are plastic, two are pictures taped,
And one’s, I’m fairly sure, a dinosaur.
It matters not. My mind is quick and keen,
Discerning more than eyes can comprehend.
Behold, I play the most prodigious scene,
Roaring and breathing fire with my friends.
Lend me your arms — I launch into the sky.
For I am dragon. I am meant to fly.
